Diljit Dosanjh Shares His Refreshing Shardai Recipe to Beat the Summer Heat

The relentless summer heat has settled in for the season, prompting an inevitable hankering for icy beverages to combat the sweltering temperatures. Among the array of options to cool down, shardai stands out as a beloved choice for many seeking refreshment. Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, gearing up for his Orlando concert, recently infused a touch of desi charm into the foreign locale by showcasing the traditional art of making shardai.

In a captivating Instagram video, Dosanjh unveiled the meticulous process behind crafting this invigorating drink. Shardai, a concoction rich with almonds, pistachios, sunflower, pumpkin, poppy, fennel, cardamom, and melon seeds, accompanied by a hint of black pepper and ice, formed the basis of his recipe. Demonstrating his expertise, Dosanjh expertly ground the medley of ingredients into a fine powder using a rustic mud vessel and a hefty pestle, ensuring a uniform consistency. With finesse, he then blended the powdered mixture in a circular motion, culminating in a fragrant and flavorful paste. Finally, in a gesture of pure enjoyment, Dosanjh savored the chilled shardai from a large brass bowl, priming himself to delight the awaiting audience in Orlando.

This culinary adventure isn’t the first time Dosanjh has delighted fans with his gastronomic skills. Earlier, during his Dil-Luminati North America Tour in March, he indulged in the preparation of another Punjabi delight, Panjiri. In an endearing Instagram post, Dosanjh showcased his culinary prowess as he skillfully combined poppy seeds, ghee, and brown sugar to concoct this sweet treat. Amidst the cooking process, Dosanjh joyfully shared the news of a sold-out concert, dancing with excitement as he infused his creation with enthusiasm.
