During Microsoft Build 2024, the tech giant unveiled a plethora of artificial intelligence (AI) innovations spanning across various platforms, including Copilot, Azure cloud service, and Microsoft Fabric, among others. The event’s keynote, held a day after the Surface event, highlighted the introduction of Copilot+ PCs and integrated AI features for PCs. Now, Microsoft has expanded Azure’s offerings with the availability of GPT-4o through its Azure OpenAI Service.
GPT-4o Joins Azure Portfolio Microsoft’s Azure platform, already renowned for its array of large language models (LLMs), has now integrated support for GPT-4o, reinforcing its collaboration with OpenAI. Access to this latest AI model is seamlessly provided through the Azure OpenAI Service, accessible to existing subscribers of the cloud computing platform. Furthermore, Microsoft is leveraging GPT-4o’s capabilities, such as emotive speech, real-time verbal responses, and computer vision, by integrating them with Copilot.
During the keynote, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella showcased a brief demonstration of Copilot in action, assisting a user during a game of Minecraft with real-time answers and suggestions. Additionally, Microsoft emphasized the myriad ways developers can harness the power of GPT-4o to create innovative tools.
Introducing Copilot Studio In response to the growing trend of AI agents, Microsoft introduces Copilot Studio, a platform allowing businesses and developers to construct Copilot apps effortlessly. These AI agents can execute tasks autonomously based on predefined instructions, eliminating the need for manual prompting. Whether it’s monitoring emails or completing data entry tasks, Copilot AI agents offer seamless functionality. The platform is currently in preview with limited access but is slated for a broader release soon.
As the tech landscape continues to evolve with AI advancements, Microsoft’s integration of GPT-4o into Azure and the introduction of Copilot Studio signify the company’s commitment to empowering developers and businesses with cutting-edge AI capabilities.
